Are These The Top 10 Songs Named After Famous People?

An interesting list. I can't say I have heard all these songs before.

Still, WatchMojo put out a list every day with suggestions from their viewers. Some lists are very good, some not quite as good but still fun.

Here's a gallery of some who made the list:

There are more songs named after people.
Here are a few:
Sweet Caroline - written by Neil Diamond, inspired by Caroline Kennedy when she was 11.

So Long, Frank Lloyd Wright - by Simon and Garfunkel in honour of one of the world's greatest architects, and the possible inspiration for the hero of Ayn Rand's "The Fountain Head".

Neil Sedaka's "Betty Grable". She was one of the most popular pinups during WW2.

Don McLean's "Vincent - Starry, Starry Night".

Then there are some vaguer references:

My Man - by The Eagles refers to Gram Parsons

Hey Carrie Ann - The Hollies -  actually refers to Marianne Faithfull, who was Mick Jagger's girlfriend at the time.

Then, of course, there is Elton John's "Candle In The Wind" - referring to Marilyn Monroe.

Elton changed it to "Goodbye England's  Rose" referring to the untimely death of his friend, Princess Diana. Very touching indeed.

Also of interest is "American Pie". Many references there.

However, the overall winner according to WatchMojo, and a good choice, is Chuck Berry's
"Roll Over Beethoven".
